While Michele is upstairs in the room getting ready for supper, I am taking the opportunity to update the blog which explains the 3 postings in one day.
Took the 09:10 bus from Fertilia to Alghero and tried to procure a day's sailing trip on a local sail boat to celebrate Michele's birthday, but despite the myriad boats in the harbour, none were evidently available available on such short notice and without prior booking. So, instead, we booked an 8 hour trip aboard a local schooner for tomorrow. Then we walked the 6.5 km back along the beach front between Alghero and Fertilia. Except for a 500m deviation around the campground and neighbouring hospital on the edge of Alghero, we were able to keep our feet wet on the sandy shore for the entire way. It was a very simple way to celebrate Michele's entry into the distinguished 50's club, but it was very relaxing and she says that she still feels like she's 25.
